Sorry, but what does “somatic” mean again?
Somatic simply means that it is about what you feel in your body, or your “felt experience.” (This can be as simple as noticing what you feel as you breathe.) Remember: many guided meditations out there are about visualizing, which keeps you in your head. That's where a lot of us have learned to escape and avoid feeling. Somatic meditation helps you tune in and feel more grounded in your body.
I’m really busy and overwhelmed. What if I don’t have the time to meditate?
First of all, I totally understand! I’m a working mom and know how crazy life can be. I had YOU in mind while I developed this course because I packed a powerful punch into as short a time as possible. These meditations are all under ten minutes long and they will actually help you feel not so overwhelmed (even if your life doesn’t change). You just need to trust the process and do it.
I have a hard time sitting still. What do I do?
Hey, that’s okay! These meditations can be done laying down, standing up, seated in a chair/on the floor or however you want to do them. (You don’t even have to be completely still to meditate!) The point is to be mindful of your body and be sure you can breathe deeply.
Why do you call it a practice?
Because there is never an expectation that you do this perfectly! You practice making it a part of your life. You practice being aware of your thoughts. You practice, practice, practice. It helps you be gentle with yourself all along the way.
I’m religious. Is this going to conflict with my beliefs?
I’m religious too! And this will absolutely not conflict with your beliefs. I don’t really get into this in the course (because I wanted to keep it non-denominational), but meditation has only deepened my ability to feel close to God. It is a very spiritual practice no matter what you believe because meditation helps you deeply experience (and not just know in your head) your innate worth and power. It opens you up to feeling more joy and love. If those things are part of your belief system, then you should fit in here just fine.
What if I try it out and decide it’s not for me?
No problem. I’ve got you covered. If you give yourself the chance to try this for 30 days and decide it is not for you, just contact me and you’ll get your money back. Guaranteed.
